Jim Menard is a veteran geek with over 25 years of experience. A problem solver and innovator, he brings to Carrara a combination of deep technical knowledge, an understanding of business needs, and the communication skills to bring them together.

Mr. Menard's technical experience is wide-ranging. He is currently leading the construction of a large AI-based system in the education space. He built the back end and publishing system for iCarly.com, and added Ruby language and MongoDB support to a new cloud computing platform. He is also a founder and contributor to multiple Open Source projects. Mr. Menard's DataVision reporting software is in use in fifty countries and has been translated into eleven languages. He created the first pure-Ruby XML parser and multiple reference implementations for the ICE publishing protocol.

Mr. Menard has published multiple technical articles and given talks on various topics at conferences and user groups.

With a background encompassing both large enterprises and small start-ups, Mr. Menard offers a depth and breadth of experience that makes him a key contributor to any project.
